Grab bars which respect UK building regulations

Ponte Giulio’s grab bars fully respect UK building regulations 2020

Tubocolor are slip-resistant and warm to the touch as the regulation’s 2020 adjustments stipulate

The UK building regulations 2020 stipulate that handrail must be slip-resistant and not cold to the touch. A warm to the touch finish is required by the Disability discrimination Act too, the Environmental Health Agency and Regional Health Authorities. Ponte Giulio’s grab bars fully respect these requests and they are anti-microbial too, a very important feature to protect the health and safety of users and products.

For decades Ponte Giulio has been focusing on safe and comfort solutions for bathrooms and, since many years, the company pioneered the use of BioCote’s anti-microbial technology to reduce the levels of bacteria, mould and some viruses up to 99.9% on its grab bars surfaces.

Ponte Giulio has always believed in the importance of a safe and comfortable product, especially for nursing homes, hospitals, hotels. For this reason, it has developed slip-resistant and warm to the touch grab bars, which were successfully supplied to many projects around the world, over the course of the years.

The Beit Halochem nursing home, in the city of Jerusalem, for example, is one of them. Thanks to the collaboration with its local partner, MOR Israel, Ponte Giulio supplied the vinyl coated collections Tubocolor and Urban people, as they met and even exceeded the project’s requirements and customer’s demands for extremely safe and hygienic products.

A Day Care for the elderly by the town of Monthey, Valais, Switzerland also uses Ponte Giulio’s grab bars. Thanks to the company’s Swiss partner, Cimasa, they were chosen for the furnishing of antimicrobial rails, because with their mix of design, functionality, high quality and good price point, they represented exactly what Ville de Monhey was looking for in this installation.

Laser Build, Ponte Giulio’s local partner in Portugal, supplied the Domus Aurea, nursing home project near Sintra. The project specifiers were looking for grab bars that were not only antimicrobial, warm-to-touch and non-slip, but that could also function as a towel holder for the basin.

“The fact that our products fully reflect the requirements of the UK building regulations 2020 – comments Marco Ragno, Ponte Giulio’s Export Manager – demonstrates that our products are designed and engineered to ensure safety and comfort and that they are the best choice to achieve fully compliant projects. This is opening up more doors in the UK market where our partner Instastop in very active in healthcare installations. Ponte Giulio anticipated such product features many years ago and can supply items that meet and even exceed UK building regulation requirements, with the experience and great feedback from projects already supplied around the world”.
